The Deepest Well

BOOK REVIEW

The Deepest Well
by Dr Nadine Burke Harris

Burke Harris writes from the exam room, not the lecture hall, and that's what gives this book its weight.

She lays out, with real clinical evidence, how childhood adversity gets stored in the body and shows up decades later as physical illness.

Essential reading if you want the medical case for why we cannot separate the story of someone's childhood from the state of their health today.

While it paints a striking picture of the problem in healthcare today, Harris falls short of offering sustainable solutions, but I appreciate the leadership she has taken in getting the conversation started.
